Happy Valentine's Day ya'll!
This Valentine's day seemed all the more special to me than in years past. Not that years past haven't been awesome, but watching my son's face as I snuggled and kissed him and gave him lots of Valentine's cheer...it was truly a beautiful day. Jackson loved his gifts. We got him a new book and a cookie jar doohickey. He had fun all day, although I'm pretty sure that he liked his VDay card the most :0) It's the simple things in life I'm learning that truly thrill him as do they me. Spending the day at Walmart or watching him crawl or taking him to the window to see the snow that has just fallen is magical. His eyes light up and the world just seems right. We didn't do anything at all special really besides exchange gifts and Justin made a great steak dinner, but today was a good day! I can't say enough how truly blessed I am to have not 1, but 2 incredible men in my life (one big and one small). On this Valentine's Day, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! In fact, I know I am!
So, in other news...Justin had a very important interview in South Carolina this past week. They flew him out to Aiken and he interviewed for a perfect job. I'm really trying not to get my hopes up, but this job would be exactly what we both want! Oh goodness...I get giddy just thinking about the possibility. I think I'm just very ready to move on and leave our Oklahoma days behind us. Not that there aren't things I will miss b/c there definitely are, but I'm ready for the next adventure. We're hoping to hear back about this job in the next 2 weeks. Pray for us that he gets it! If he does, we'll be on an airplane very soon to go look at houses.
Also very exciting news on the Jackson front. After months and months of waiting for teeth and crawling, he hit the motherload on both fronts this week. He has a teeny tiny little corner of a tooth poking out where you can actually see it. It was so exciting I think I may have shed a tear of happiness when Miss Liz called me down to see it. I thought for sure he's have one sooner than this, but I'm also finding out that he'll get there when he'll get there. I've been trying to take a picture of it and he refuses to let me, so hopefully soon! As I said, he's also started crawling in the past week. Now by crawling, I don't mean on all 4s or anything. He's army crawling. What can I say...he likes to do things to hard way. It's pretty awesome to watch him move from one side of the room to another. He can actually move quite quickly for army crawling, which is keeping the both of us on our toes. I'm happy that he's crawling and I'll probably regret that later and all, but I'm just thrilled. I had a feeling he'd turn 9 months old and then everything would happen. Hopefully, he'll learn soon to crawl on all 4s, but we'll see :0) We go to the doctor tomorrow for his 9 month checkup, so I'll have an update soon on his stats. I know he's gotta be well over 20 pounds now b/c he's so hard to carry! Anyway, I'll leave you with a couple of pictures of my Valentine :
